Benefits of Filter Water

Let’s talk about water!

If you suffer from oily skin,  you may have tried various products that promote the reduction of sebum. We’ve fallen into buying mattifying toners or oil-free moisturizers to some degree of short-term succession but often to no avail.

Perhaps frustration builds up with each failed attempt we follow since we only reach a dead-end.  Our motivation fatigues and the courage to try something new stalls. We need a break! Let the oil production form to its full capacity! For the time being, we just don’t care!!

So when I first noticed an actual instant change on my skin, I was completely surprised.  The new discovery was on a trip to Northern California.  I was visiting family and to my dismay, I discovered my skin appeared nice. After being in NorCal for just about a day and showering with filtered water, I looked in the mirror; you know, to do the usual pimple inspections and to my surprise my skin actually looked good. I attributed my improved skincare not only to the purified water but the atmosphere. The house is surrounded by tall green trees, manicured flowers, beautiful farming landscaping and minimal to zero car pollution.

On the other hand, the environmental stressors that I face in Los Angeles just adds to my problematic skin.  So, it was nice to see my skin take a break. Here, I learned that I needed to educate myself and be aware that by living in a polluted city, my skin is subjected to environmental stressors The location you live makes a significant difference in your skincare and may cause severe consequences. Sometimes it is the simplest forms of skincare that make a change rather than applying a strong ingredient to combat the issue.

If you do not have filtered water, it will be beneficial to possibly buy natural water from the grocery store and use as a toner.  It will still help our pH levels to balance.  The more alkaline and oxygen in our skin the better. It will help keep our skin hydrated.

Tap water tends to still have some toxins and bacteria that penetrate through that are bad for our skin.  It can strip our natural oils away, leading to irritation, drying, dullness, inflammation and redness among other issues.  Which prompts us to spend more money on skin care products.  Once our natural oils are gone from our skin, our natural skin moisture is also gone, so our skin gets to be the subject of harsh environmental chemicals.   Hello, excessive oily skin, oxidation, lines and irritation!!  We are more susceptible to free radicals, which is not a good thing since it fractures our collagen and elasticity.

Did you know about filter water? When did you discover it would help with acne/oily skin improvement?
